Happy 4th of July!

Marshfield, MO, my hometown's claim to fame is 1) The Hubble Telescope. We can't actually lay claim on the actual telescope, BUT Edwin Hubble was born and raised here, so the telescope is ours, by association. Right? I mean, we even have a small replica of it on the courthouse grounds! and 2) Our Independence Day Parade is the longest running parade west of the Mississippi River. But when I did a little more research on this, a couple of other places claim this title as well. So.... who really knows. But I'm gonna go with marshfield being the owner of that title. ;)

Anywho - here are a few snapshots of our 4th of July. We enjoyed a very full day of a 2 hour parade, loaded waffle fries after said parade, freshly squeezed lemonade, grilling in the backyard while the little ones went swimming, fireworks, and a lot of near scares because of the fireworks (I was completely positive for 2 seconds that Blake was going to singe all of my hair off).

Happy 4th, y'all! Hope it was a good one.

  1. that is so awesome that your parade is one of the longest! i think that's the only way to visit a parade on independence day - if it's worth it like yours totally is!
